Established in 2015 with writers and activists, Sarah Indigo and Eryl Sheilds. Brave New Words has established itself as the South of Scotland’s most energetic open mic platform for words spoken, sung, signed, shot or silenced. Now in its fifth year with an average attendance of 50 from ages 8-80 and set-list of 20 performers each month, the evening is re-interpreted with a theme, encompassing both the physical set and the content. Brave New Words attempts to break down barriers, inspire and bring life back to the High Street of Dumfries, every single month, in every single season.
